Destination of the Night : Somboon Restaurant at Surawong
How to go there : Get out of Silom BTS station. Turn right when you see a street of pub. Walk till end and turn left. Continue down the road. If you see Le Meridien hotel on your right, you are on the right track.
Or
Get out of Chong Nonsi BTS Station and head back from the way of BTS that come. Walk straight and you will reach the restaurant. This way is less crowded and easier to walk but I find the road is quiet and the shop is closed. So if you are alone take care.

Somboon Restaurant is a highly famed restaurant in Bangkok. Even the ex Japan Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi have visit the restaurant.

Famous dish here is their Fried Curry Crab. Other dish here is not bad too.

Below are the dish that we ordered. We just choose one dish each of us. It does not mean other dish in the restaurant not worth to try. Like their tom yam soup should taste very good too but most of us feel bored with tom yam soup on dining table.

4 type of vege with special oyster sauce.

Fried Curry Crab. Personally I feel Malaysia fried crab taste better but the crab here is quite huge. Hard to find similar size crab at other place.

Salt baked fish. The skin of the fish is covered with large amount of salt. The skin is basically too salty to be eaten this way.

To eat this fish, you need to peel open the skin and eat the meat beneath the skin. The meat is succulent with juicy flavor. Add some extra chili for extra flavoring.

Braised pork rib.

Fresh prawn to be eaten raw. Taste great if you can eat it with all the herb and some brandy.

The shop claim this is "Touch-me-not" but from the look of the vege, I don't believe this is "Touch-me-not". However this is also another recommended dish here.

And that is my last night meal at Bangkok.
The next day I need to pack and catch my flight back to Malaysia.

Bangkok 2nd Trip - Day 3 - MBK Plaza

Destination of the day : MBK Plaza  and Chocolate Ville
How to go MBK Plaza : Take BTS and go to Victory Stadium Station. Walk out from the station and MBK Plaza is on your right hand.
How to go Chocolate Ville : This place is at outskirt of Bangkok city. Require about 1 hour car drive. So get a taxi for this.

There is a nice pork noodle shop near the hotel that I stay. Just turn right after going out from the hotel and walk in direction of Double Tree Hilton Hotel. Before you reach Double Tree Hotel, you will notice this shop. I love their fried fish skin. Crispy and won't have fishy smell.

After the breakfast, I took the BTS to Victory Stadium and then walk out of the station. MBK Plaza is on your right. I visit MBK Plaza hoping to make a set of suit with coat here. Unfortunately, the tailor shop say can't finish on time before I go home. Thus I have to give up. If you planned to make suit here, please do it on the first day. And prepare to go on the next day again so that you can try the sample of the coat that they make. The price for a set will cost you about 2000-3000 baht depending on the quality of cloth that you choose.

MBK is a very old shopping complex in Bangkok. It is target market is for lower income people. The shop here sells a variety of things. It feel very similar with Kuala Lumpur Sungai Wang, where you can find a large variety of shop. A good place to hunt for some cheap stuff. The food court offer some nice local thai food at a very reasonable price. I had the shark fin soup here for just 180 baht.

After the meal, have some walk at MBK and notice some nice looking Iphone casing.
But ridiculously overprice.

After that, I went for a massage near my hotel. The Asia Herb Association. Price have increase compare to my last visit but quality still maintained.

Thai Fish Farm, Hulu Langat

This is the 2nd time I been to this place. The first time, I did not bring along my camera. But this time the photo quality not that good either. Maybe need to plan another visit to this great Thai Restaurant.

Before continue, for those who is less adventurous, you may want to skip this place. The road to go to this restaurant is windy, narrow and bumpy mud road. At times it feel like you are going deep into jungle to a ghost house.

The place is quite hard to be miss if you know how to go Look Out Point. It is just further on about 500 meter and you will see some light signboard on your right hand.
Quite hard to be missed as signboard, and lamp is hard to be seen in that part of the road. Unlike previous part that lead to Look Out Point.

Once you go pass the main gate, you will start the JUNGLE TREKKING.

But after all the adventurous journey, you will be greeted with a large palm leaf roof restaurant that surround the Fish Pond. The owner claim their fish is breed at the pond. That is why it is very fresh. But then the main attraction here is certainly not the fish. Is the Grilled BBQ Crab. (^___^)

(These 2 photo is taken during my first visit.)

Their menu offer quite a variety of food to choose. One visit sure is not enough to try all. So if you like Thai Food, be prepare for more visit here.

The food that we order for that day...

There is a missing Kerabu Mangga. Kind of like slice Mango salad. You can find this under appetizer in most Thai Restaurant. Me and my friend is too hungry that time and forget to take the photo first. ><

Coconut Drink. A must for Thai Food.

Mango Sticky Rice. Another famous Thai delicacy. A simple combination of Mango, Coconut Milk and Glutinous Rice but very tasty. The owner of this restaurant if from Thailand. Thus this taste very similar to Thai local cooking.

Lemon leaf fried chicken. A nice fried chicken marinated and fry with Lemon Grass leaf.

Salt Baked Grilled Fish. A special delicacy here. The skin of the fish is cover with a large amount of salt and then it is grilled. The result is skin that is too salty to be eat. (Well maybe those who is very "ham sap" can eat it. :P) But the fish meat is very juicy and tender. And that is what make this dish great. A must order here beside the grilled crab.

No Thai meal is complete without a bowl of Thai famous Tom Yam. The sour and spicy aroma of the soup is sure to increase the appetite for most people. I try to refrain from any rice for this meal, but just can't resist a few spoon of rice to go with the soup.

The big grilled crab that is the last dish of the day. We save the best for the last. Hehehe (^_^)

Final bill for all the food we had, is RM188. So one person is just RM63. A reasonable price in my opinion.

I will try to include a Map to the place
