Tokyo Trip - Eat Pray Love - Day 7 - Asakusa

Plan for the day : Tsukiji - Ginza - Ciba - Asakusa
Early morning visit Tsukiji Fish Market and try the sushi meal.
Afternoon visit Ginza area.
Evening go to Ciba to find the house that Shirakawa Riko stay before in drama Buzzer Beat
Night visit Asakusa to take photo of Sky Tree and Sensoji Temple.

Asakusa is an old district in Tokyo. A very good place to visit if you wish to understand Tokyo.
Many restaurant here has more than 100 years history. And of course the most famous spot in this area is the Sensoji Temple. It is the oldest temple in Tokyo.

Recently another tourist spot is added here. The Sky Tree. This tower is completed on February 2012 and  now is the tallest tower in the world.

Sky tree that can be view from a far. It look prettier at night than day. And the lighting effect is good when you close up. The light change as the clock tick. But too bad, from afar, I feel Tokyo Tower is still more iconic and prettier.

If you are interested, you can ride one of these old wheel chair. The guy here will carry you to the hotel nearby.

Reach the temple area. The tour begin with this gate, Kaminarimon(Thunder Gate/ 雷门).

The shopping street. Can't find any 劳金鱼 stall here. But you can find many traditional Japan stall here. Such as selling paper fan, yukata and so on....

Barley with a bit of alcohol. Very good taste.

These handbag is so cute. Almost can't resist it and want to buy. But luckily I am guy that don't carry hand bag.

By the time I reach the Sensoji temple, the door is closed for the day. Thus I can't pray or do anything else.

While walking near the shopping area, I found a famous shop that sell Japanese desert Yokan/羊羹.
Taste very good but can't be keep for long. So I bought one piece(100 yen) for myself to try here.

Cabbage? or Flower? I am not sure....

A very modern looking shop. Later I found at Internet that this is actually a tourist center spot that provide assistance to tourist like myself. Very easy to spot as the building is right opposite of the Kaminarimon(Thunder Gate/ 雷门).

Take note on the zebra crossing here. Instead of going horizontal and vertical only, there is diagonal crossing too.

A typical vending machine in Tokyo but take note on the left.

As mention here, you can use your Pasmo card. That means the credit inside your card can be used to purchase drink here. But take note, Pasmo and Suica is 2 different card. Some vending machine only accept Pasmo and some only Suica.

Tag your card here to pay using the Pasmo card.

Tokyo citizen prefer the use of bicycle rather than motorcycle. More environmental friendly and good for health. Thus you can find parking area like this for the bicycle.

That is all the trip for the day. Need to pack my luggage and prepare to check out the next morning. I have ask the concierge if I am allow to keep my luggage at the concierge counter and return later in the evening before my flight time. The concierge is ok with this. Good Service :)
